Ho Chi Minh City commonly known as Saigon is the largest city of Vietnam and its commercial capital.  However the old Saigon name is still used by both Vietnamese and foreigners, especially when referring to the most central part of the city to which most tourists flock. Saigon is very active at night. Sidewalk cafes dot the city, pubs and restaurants stay open late into the night, and entertainment options for visiting Saigon golfers are a plenty. The wet season lasts from May to October in the south, and the best times for traveling to Ho Chi Minh City are late November through January.
